My name is Mary. I'm a writer, an equestrian, and a naturalist, here to make sense of our place in the natural world. I have an unorthodox childhood, a career in science education, and a lifetime of tromping around in the woods in my pocket which serve me well in my writing. Most of my published work is memoir, creative nonfiction, nature writing, or some hybrid of any of these.
